Books Recommendations

Recent reads — El Monstruo by John Ross. An extremely accessible and entertaining narrative about the history of Mexico City ("The Monster") and Mexico in general.

Biographies — Gonzo - Life of Hunter S. Thompson by by Corey Seymour, Jann S. Wenner, and Johnny Depp and I'll Sleep When I'm Dead: The Dirty Life and Times of Warren Zevon by Crystal Zevon. Both biographies take an interesting approach of summarizing lives based on stories and interviews by people who knew them.

Classics I would recommend to anyone would be The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Puddin'head Wilson by Mark Twain, and The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

History — Benjamin Franklin: An American Life by Walter Isaacson and Mornings on Horseback: (Theodore Roosevelt) by David McCullough are both extremely interesting.

Perdido Street Station and The Scar by China Melville involve some of the most creative characters and ideas I've happened upon in novels.
